Conducting with headphones is a performance in which the performer listens and conducts to music on headphones ranging from classical compositions to pop and techno. Whilst shifting spatial functions it foregrounds conducting as an act of emotional and physical expression, inverting the traditional conductors role through the translation of sound into gesture.
