Pinkie is a multimedia performance in which the cello functions as an interface between body, sound, and the digital visual realm. Its starting point is the dual meaning of the term „scale“—referring both to a musical scale and to a spatial standard of measurement. The instrumentalist’s fingers transform into autonomous figures, their movements oscillating between instrumental technique and the gestures of digital interfaces: scrolling, swiping, and tapping become musical and choreographic impulses.
